Introduction to Croquet

From 27th July, Fylde Croquet Club is offering a 5-week introductory course each Tuesday, from 6pm to 7pm at its Midgeland Road ground in Blackpool. Croquet is a sport for all ages and has been likened to “snooker played on grass”. An adult must accompany players aged under 18. After a demonstration of techniques, the simple form of the game, Golf Croquet, can be picked up quite quickly. In this version, the winner is the first team to successfully run seven out of thirteen hoops. Fylde Croquet Club plays in the leagues of the North West Federation. Flat-soled shoes must be worn and ladies are advised to wear trousers.
